Saint Vrain Creek Coalition Releases Requests for Proposals for Design-Build Construction in Apple Valley

Lyons, CO – April 7, 2017 – The Saint Vrain Creek Coalition (SVCC) released two Requests for Proposals (RFP) seeking qualified consultants and contractors to complete stream restoration design-build construction projects in Apple Valley North and South, due to begin in June 2017. Bidders may submit proposals for either or both projects by responding to the appropriate RFP.

The Creek Rehabilitation Design-Build Construction for Apple Valley North is fully funded by the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP) Program, managed by the Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB), and the Colorado Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) Watershed Resilience Pilot Program. The Creek Rehabilitation Design-Build for Apple Valley South is partially funded by the NRCS EWP Program. The SVCC is working closely with our partners to obtain additional funding to complete the project.

Both RFPs can be found on the Coalition’s website at www.saintvraincreekcoalition.org/Apple-Valley and on the Rocky Mountain e-Purchasing System website at http://www.bidnetdirect.com/colorado. Bids are due by April 28, 2017 at 4:00pm MST.

The Coalition will be hosting a mandatory pre-bid meeting and site visit for potential bidders onApril 14 in Lyons. The Apple Valley North pre-bid meeting and site visit will begin at 1:00pm, while the Apple Valley South pre-bid meeting and site visit will begin at 3:30pm. All parties interested in bidding on the project are required to have one team member in attendance and are asked to RSVP. Any inquiries about the RFPs must be sent in writing to the Coalition’s Watershed Coordinator, Cecily Mui, by April 18 at noon.

The design-build projects are anticipated to begin in June 2017, building off of the 30% design developed during the Creek Rehabilitation Plan for Apple Valley Project process, funded by the DOLA CDBG-DR Resilience Planning Program. Stream construction work for both projects will begin in September 2017 and must be completed by December 31, 2017.

“The SVCC is looking forward to the construction phase of these projects. Our funders, partners, consultants, and residents within the project areas have worked hard towards achieving a more resilient Apple Valley,” Cecily Mui, Watershed Coordinator for the SVCC.
